Following the Warwick Rape Chat scandal, Nettle Theatre felt compelled to make theatre that reclaimed the space. It was important to use our bodies to fortify and heal rather than subjected to further abuse. Words had to be chosen carefully because of the weight they carry. Our small, insular world had been reduced and broken and we wanted to create a space where we could recover. It celebrated the process over the performance. We encouraged collaboration and shunned isolation. We looked for light in the heaviest moment of our university career.
